Sous Chef: Jurys Inns Group Ltd is one of the fastest-growing hotel groups in Europe, with 32 property locations in the UK, Ireland and Europe with more to come...   Jurys Inn Swindon now has an excellent opportunity available for a   SOUS CHEF   to join our Kitchen team.   Sous Chef overview: To contribute to customer satisfaction through the preparation of high-quality food items in accordance with hotel standards and to maximise hotel customer satisfaction and profitability through Food and Beverage service.    Sous Chef key responsibilities: To deputise the management of the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef. Contribute to the production of food items in accordance with instructions from the Head Chef. Be knowledgeable of the day’s business, i.e. know what reservations are booked in to the Food & Beverage outlets, be aware of outside events that will impact directly on business, etc. Be familiar with the menu and with any “specials” of the day. Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely fashion. Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen/buffet are prepared to the approved standard of presentation. Avoid unnecessary wastage, to observe proper portion planning and control and to act in a cost effective, responsible manner. Ensure excellent food hygiene practice is observed in the entire food chain from storage through to preparation and service. Ensure HACCP compliance within the kitchen and all Food & Beverage outlets. Ensure the kitchen equipment is in working order and report any maintenance issues.                                                                                                 To contribute to the training and development of kitchen team.   The ideal candidate for this position:   Must have previous experience in a similar position. Must be standards driven and detail-orientated. Must have the ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment. Must be flexible with regards to hours. Must have a good command of the English language. Must have excellent self-presentation. Should have detailed knowledge of HACCP and Health & Safety legislation. Should have relevant professional qualification.   Salary range for Sous Chef is £17k depending on experience.     Jurys Inns is an equal opportunities employer   We do not require the use of agencies at this time
