The Scarlet, overlooking the Ocean on the North Coast of Cornwall, is a  purpose built hotel with 37 rooms. Starting with a blank canvas we drew on our experience to thoughtfully design our dream.  We believe that through empathy with our guests and each other we will deliver an experience that will ensure the long term success of the business and the lasting positive effects on the local community whilst leaving only the lightest of footprints. 

Can you help us deliver our vision?

 4 Night Hosts required

To carry out a broad range of nightly tasks that support the day to day operation of the Hotel whilst also looking after the hotel guests. In addition the night hosts are responsible for the guest safety and hotel security in the absence of a senior manager.

£7.10 per hour + benefits

You will be working a 4 days on, 4 days off shift pattern.  You will be required to work 12 hours shifts (excluding breaks).

The positions we are offering require more than is traditionally expected from hotel night porters.   You will be fully employed during your shift with a mixture of reception, bar, breakfast set up and cleaning duties. You will be working as part of a team of two night staff on each night.

The role

• To look after our guests, deal with late check ins and early check outs, serve drinks and snacks, deliver/retrieve food trays.
• To complete a variety of tasks including breakfast lay up, valet parking, cleaning duties, newspaper ordering and delivery.
• To take responsibility for the safety and security of the hotel and deal with any emergencies calmly and efficiently.

You must have a positive ‘can do’ attitude and enjoy actively caring for our guests and staff.  You will be able to solve problems and work under your own initiative.  Reliability and honesty are essential as are basic IT skills.  Attention to detail is vital to ensure standards are maintained within the hotel.

As you will be required to valet park guest cars, our insurers require that you have had a full clean driving licence for 2 years and are aged 25 or over.

First aid at work and basic food hygiene certificates desirable

Previous hospitality, catering or bar experience preferred however we are willing to train the right person.

All members of the Scarlet team must have an awareness of, or be open minded to, embracing the principles of sustainability and wellbeing both personally and professionally.

We are unable to offer live in accommodation but will give assistance in finding local accommodation.

We now require both

Full and part-time Night Supervisors

£7.50 per hour + benefits

Hours 11pm to 8am

Full time - 5 nights per week

Part time - 2 nights per week, but willing to cover holidays for the full time night supervisors
